THE HAUNTED's ARO: We Are 'Very Happy' With EARACHE RECORDS
February 27, 2003THE HAUNTED frontman Marco Aro has branded as "total bullshit" quotes attributed to him in a recent interview with Finland's Kaista, according to an Earache Records spokesperson.
Aro, who was quoted by Kaista as saying that "Earache are lying to us all the time" regarding album sales, is claiming that the band are "very happy right now" with their relationship with Earache and insists that "the level of communication [between the band and the label] right now is the best it has ever been," according to the Earache spokesperson.
"We don't discuss our business dealings in public, but Earache never told us we only sold 1,000 units in the U.S. — that's plain ridiculous," the singer reportedly added.
[For the record, THE HAUNTED's "The Haunted Made Me Do It" has sold 14,658 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen Soundscan, while the live album, "Live Rounds In Tokyo", has shifted 3,139 units so far.]
"With the DVD, of course things could always be done better with hindsight but its number one in the Swedish charts. How can anyone be unhappy with that?!!" said Aro.
"Earache worked really hard for us with 'One Kill Wonder'. They did a great job and the chart positions all over the world speak for themselves," the singer reportedly concluded.
